Do you know all there is to know about Ticks?

Have you ever asked yourself any of the following questions?

  • What does a tick look like?
  • What do I do if I find a tick on my pet?
  • How do I stop a flea infestation in my house?
  • Can fleas bite people?

If you’re not sure about what the answers might be, then come visit The Big Tick & Flea Tent at Dogfest, where we will be teaching pet owners everything there is to know about ticks and fleas.

As part of its work to educate pet owners on the dangers of ticks and fleas, the project has recently carried out research into infectious diseases amongst the flea population in the UK, and how common these threats are to pets.

In partnership with the University of Bristol, the research examined nearly 1,500 pets in order to gain a deeper insight into how prevalent fleas are amongst our pets.

The study also looked into what infectious diseases the UK flea population might be carrying, and how prevalent these diseases were among fleas. If you want to learn more about fleas, and how to protect your family and pets against them, come visit our tent,  housed in the Keeping Britain’s Pets Healthy Zone, which is new for 2019.

Pet owners will be able to find out exactly how common fleas - and the diseases they carry - are amongst British pets. The tent’s team will also be sharing advice on tick and flea prevention and treatment, helping to keep both pets and their owners safe, happy and healthy.
